When I was little and saw Slimer in Ghostbusters 2, I exclaimed, “but it’s true?”. Today I have the honor to speak with the legendary Robin Shelby actress who played our beloved Slimer.

It’s my pleasure! Thank you so much for asking me.

I grew up doing musical theatre in the San Francisco Bay Area, was bitten by the acting bug in no time. I was so lucky to work with people at a very early age who instilled some amazing tools for me to progress toward a professional career.

The whole process of shooting Slimer took about six weeks. As far as putting on the costume, it took about half an hour to have the costume on completely.

Ghostbusters 2 was the most incredible experience with the most talented people I have ever met. It was truly exhausting at times, but everyone on the set was always watching out for me. When you have long days and such a physical role, the people around you become so important. They were the best. I was able to watch the talent at ILM shoot other GB2 effects…talk about an added perk!

Shooting a scene where Slimer gets off the bus to join Louis. The energy we all had during and after shooting that scene was unbelieveable. This didn’t end up in the film, but as we wrapped that day we knew we had all accomplished something pretty remarkable. The impromtu party we had when Bill Murray was on set was a very close second. 🙂

Being a part of something so iconic has definitely changed my life forever. The love people have for the Ghostbusters films and the characters is incredible, and I still can’t believe I’m a part of that. I am so grateful for the people I have met working on GB2. I have learned so much from them and the experience.

Quando ero piccolo e ho visto Slimer in Ghostbusters 2, esclamai, “ma

è vero?”. Oggi ho l’onore di parlare con la leggendaria Robin Shelby attrice che ha interpretato il nostro amato Slimer.

R: Il piacere è tutto mio! Grazie tanto per avermi invitato.

Sono cresciuta facendo teatro musicale nella San Francisco Bay Area, mi ha colpito in poco tempo. Ho avuto la fortuna di lavorare con le persone in età molto precoce che mi hanno trasmesso alcuni incredibili mezzi per portarmi verso una futura carriera professionale.

R: L’intero processo di ripresa per Slimer è durato circa sei settimane. Per indossare il costume completamente c’è voluta circa mezz’ora.

Ghostbusters 2 è stata l’esperienza più incredibile con le persone talentuose che abbia mai incontrato. E’stato veramente faticoso, a volte, ma tutti sul set avevano un’occhio di riguardo per me. Quando si lavora per lunghi giorni e hai un ruolo dove sforzi fisicamente, le persone intorno a te diventano tanto importanti. Erano i migliori. Ho potuto vedere il talento all’ILM mentre sviluppavano altri effetti speciali per GB2 … parlarne è un grande vantaggio!

Girando una scena in cui Slimer scende dal bus e parla con Louis. L’energia che tutti abbiamo avuto durante e dopo le riprese di quella scena è stata incredibile.

Questo non è stato inserito nel film, ma sappiamo bene tutti che abbiamo svolto tutti qualcosa di piuttosto notevole. L’improvvisata più bella è stata quando abbiamo avuto Bill Murray sul set e ci è stato molto vicino. 🙂

Far parte di qualcosa di così iconico ha decisamente cambiato la mia vita per sempre. L’amore che la gente ha per il film Ghostbusters e i personaggi è

incredibile e io ancora non riesco a credere che ne faccio parte. Sono tanto grata alle persone che ho incontrato lavorando in GB2. Ho imparato tanto dalla loro esperienza.
